Daily schedule for practising vipassana meditation

Sangha, male and female yogis who are practicing  vipassana meditation have to wake up at 3:30 a.m.in the morning when the brass gong strikes. At 4:00 a.m., all have to practise sitting meditation in the hall on the first floor of the Sima. At 5:00 a.m. nine precepts have to be taken. The first meal (breakfast) is offered at  5:30  a.m.  After  breakfast,  walking  meditation  is practised up to 6:30. From 6:30 to 7:30, sitting  meditation. From 7:30 to 8:00, walking meditation. From 8:00 to  9:00, sitting  meditation. From 9:00 to 10:00, bathing and  washing. Lunch is offered at 10:30 a.m.

5:00 a.m.         taking the nine precepts
5:30 a.m.         breakfast
5:30 - 6:30 a.m. walking meditaiton after breakfast
6:30 - 7:30 a.m. sitting meditation
7:30 - 8:00 a.m. walking meditation
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. sitting meditation
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. bathing and washing
10:30 a.m.           lunch

Afternoon Time-Table

12:00 -  1:00 p.m.  sitting meditation
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  walking meditaiton
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.  listening to dhamma lecture
3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  reporting to the instructor
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. sitting meditation
5:00 - 6:00 p.m.  walking meditation
6:00 - 7:00 p.m.  sitting meditation
7:00 - 8:00 p.m.  walking meditation
8:00 - 9:00 p.m.  sitting meditation
9:00 p.m.             either doing walking meditation or go to sleep as one desires. This is the time-table for a day.
